To all teachers, parents, guide leaders, etc...I sincerely hope that HCKids helps give you the tools to inspire children to create. The idea is simply to pique their interests and get them inspired and excited about holding themselves to a higher standard...knowing that they can impact the community in a positive manner...no matter what level they can participate in.
I would love nothing more than to come speak to your group and get a dialogue going! Please email me at [email protected] and we can arrange something.
Below are some ideas in which you can be a vehicle in getting children and families to create for the greater good.
--Aruna
TEACHERS:
Form a knitting group at your school and get your kids involved in HC Community Projects. Feel free to download and print HC Kids Activity Sheets.
PARENTS:
Help your child learn how to knit. Or work together on knitting projects. A small child who cannot knit can still be involved in the design process, choosing yarn or simply listening to what you have to say about how important a job you are doing together to help people around the world--while you knit.
GIRL GUIDES / SCOUTS:
Knitting is one of the badges for skill development. Get the children involved in making a difference by participating in HC Community Projects. Feel free to download and print HC Kids Activity Sheets.
SENIOR YOUTH:
Volunteers older than 16 years of age are welcome to mentor and help teach how to knit in HC organized group settings and also help execute community projects.
BUSINESSES:
If you and your business would like to take part, you can SPONSOR us in various ways:
1. Sponsor the printing of HC Kids Activity Sheets and your business name will be included in every sheet both in hard copy and e-copies. This is a great opportunity for yarn stores!
2. Offer a discount on yarn purchased at your store towards our charity projects and your business name will be listed on our website.
3. Offer to be a drop-off location for our knitted donations. Your business will be posted on our website.
